Project 03: Documentary

Project Outline

With this documentary I have had a few ideas with the topic for this like ‘What would happen if war broke out, what would New Zealand do?’ or ‘The living conditions of a group of student males.’ The idea I have decided to go with, ‘The next generation mp3 player’. This is not what you may think it is, this mp3 player does not actually exist... what makes this device unique is that you can upload different outfits on to it to correspond with the different genres. As well as the skins on the device changing the clothes that you are wearing change as well. I was thinking to have an interview with the inventor of it and some users of the device with their thoughts on it.

The type of shots I want in this is over all have interviews, and also to have shots of the ‘commercial’ for the product. The idea is to cut from the interviews to the commercials and back sort of thing. If I can produce what I am thinking in my head then it should be good.

Ahhhhh!!!!

So when I woke up this morning I realised something... I didnt like my video clip!

But the good thing was I knew how to fix it, but would I have time too...

Yes I did! I chucked in a little piece to make the moive more interactive which hopefully works well with others and the best thing is, I like it!

Changes

The filming did not go to plan because I could not go in for the 2nd shooting because of angry people telling me to piss off... But I had another good idea, the National War Memorial.

The new idea I had was to film the area there and has war action battle sounds playing in the background and no body told me off for filming there which is a good thing lol.

The main idea behind this is with ANZAC Day coming up I wanted to do something for myself to show my remembance, and I think I have done this with this clip.

I filmed it at night because I love the effect its own lighting has on its self.

All of the sound is from Sound Snap which I pieced together to get this chilling audio clip.

The website goes good with the video bacause I took images that are related to ANZAC and with the opening page I used some of the important words that are said on the day.

For my idea of this 2nd project Im looking at the sounds of war and the visuals not being there so the sound infuences you to visual the war for yourself.

The type of war scenes I was looking at is something like Saving Private Ryan - the opening scene or something like the sniper scene.

I have got to try and get into the location that I have eyed up but I am thinking that this could possibly work in any open area.

I will get the sound sorted today and start filming over this weekend.
